no, he's not the second coming of Shaq. But did you see Iowa against MSU today? Are we in need of a 7-footer with a pulse? Yes, absolutely. Woodbury is 7-1 and has some good basketball skills. Just watching the 4-A semifinals online and Woodbury just made a nice pass for an assist and then scored to put his team ahead. After Ankeny scored, Woodbury scored again to tie the game.
He can play. Yes, he will struggle a bit next year and will likely not be dominant out of the game. But he has some skills that will translate to the college game.

What he needs is not to play against slop D.
Everytime he touches the ball 5 guys maul him......that won't happen in college.

He already weighs 240. Zeller is listed at 230, Leonard is 245. I think Woody's weight is actually just fine. He doesn't need a redshirt year. Would he benefit from one? Sure, but so would many players who are contributors as freshmen. But they don't NEED one.

hmmmm....5 5 feet nothing white guys from Skankeny, or 2 6-8 black dudes from Flint and Detroit respectively mauling him. If you can't handle the 5 little kids then I'm not too confident in him against the big black dudes.

Woodbury will be surrounded by a little bit better players next year, whereas this year the opposition doesn't pay as much for double and triple teaming him.

Good Points. Just having his bigger wingspan and him taking up space in the lane will help at Iowa. The entry passes like msu had today will not be so easy.
And Woodbury and the other big recruit I think it is Meyer will let white, mcabe, and marble work the wings.
That sounds like a much better matchup for the hawks.
