Watching other teams

Just incredible to watch the competence of other teams around the country. They have the ability to move the ball, to score points, to advance the ball in 1 play well beyond the first down marker. To throw a pass down the field, make a catch and run with it.

I watch Iowa and these things seem......well.....extraordinary.

Watching louisville destroy FSU was surreal. They just know every aspect of great football.

The difference between them and Iowa is that those other teams are aggressive and dictate the game...they don't sit back and "hope" the other team makes a mistake. Sometimes we get lucky and the mistakes go our way like 2009 or 2015. More often than not, they don't.

Kirks whole end of game plan is: Hope they make a mistake,

It all comes down to if there is enough time to score, make us go 3 and out, score again. How many times do we have a 2 score lead late in the game and end up on the edge of our seats at the end? You should be about a 90% favorite to win in that situation but we are probably barely over 50% favorites.

We aren't going to make them turn it over on downs. We aren't going to get the first down we need. It all comes down to if they run out of time ( like Arkansas State 09) or if they turn the ball over (like Michigan 09). There are a tons of other examples of these throughout the years.

The examples of times we actually get a stop without a turnover (like Michigan in 13 I believe) or actually get the first down we need to take a knee (like the Insight Bowl) are few and far between.
