IOWA CITY, Iowa - Fans of the University of Iowa's men's and women's basketball, volleyball and wrestling teams can now follow live the progress on the revitalization of the UI's award-winning Carver-Hawkeye Arena.
A web cam aimed at the site of the construction of the UI's new indoor practice facility and adjoining office complex is now available off a link inside Carver-Hawkeye Revitalization, the official world wide web site of the $43 million project of the UI and the UI Athletics Department.

carverhawkeyerevitalization.com will serve the same purpose as the web site, kinnickrenovation.com, served during the recent renovation of the UI's football facility: Provide friends of the UI and fans of the Hawkeyes the most current information on the progress of the project through video, photography and editorial content. The site will also provide links to other useful information and services including the National I-Club and hawkeyesports.com.
Fully-funded with a combination of private support and annual revenues generated by the UI Athletics Department, the renovation of Carver-Hawkeye Arena will consist of four levels that will connect with the four existing levels of the Arena's office complex.
The first level of the addition will house a strength training area, and locker rooms for women's basketball coaches and officials. The second level will house the basketball and volleyball practice facility and the office wing for the basketball coaches. The third and fourth levels will consist of office wings only, for coaches and athletics administration, respectively.
The first level of the renovated office complex will consist of locker rooms for men's and women's basketball, men's basketball coaches, volleyball, and visiting teams. This floor will also house a sports medicine area, equipment room, event media room, and a multipurpose club lounge. The second level will consist of the wrestling room with lockers, and coaches' offices for wrestling, volleyball and others.
The third floor will house additional athletics administration offices and the office of Athletic Student Services. The fourth level will contain the public areas including the ticket booth, entry lobby, multipurpose club lounge, restrooms, and concession areas.
Fans can follow the progress of the work at the Arena at carverhawkeyerevitalization.com.
The exterior of the addition was designed to complement and enhance the existing architecture of the Arena. The addition will be constructed of concrete and zinc panels, and three levels of the office wing would feature a curved, glass curtain wall. Plaza entry areas will be developed at the first level of the addition, and at the fourth level of the existing office complex.
The project is scheduled for full completion in the summer 2011
