I'm out in the upper left, so casually follow UW.
UW's offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb got his second raise in a month, and is now at $2M. He's been with DeBoer for a few stops now. I think the thought is that he is going to leave for a head position soon, so UW is going to ante up and make a run at the playoffs next year.
Grubb is a NW Iowa native and Buena Vista grad. If Kirk steps down in the next year or two, and assistants go different directions, you interested in talking with him about the opening? Led the nation in passing, first downs, third down conversion rate. And with our old friend Penix jr.
And if Phil follows Kirk into retirement or goes a different direction himself, maybe Grubb brings along DC Bill Inge. Remember him? He was a Hayden guy.
Or maybe Grubb wants to be an OC forever and also wants to get back to the Midwest. Maybe he'd be a $3M coordinator, with Woods as HC and Inge as DC. Some nice connections to the Hawkeye past at that point. And also having a Black HC and coordinator, which I think Iowa is overdue for.
