Was that the most dominant performance of the KF era?

I'm trying really hard to think of a single more dominant performance against anybody in the KF era. We dominated every single aspect of the stat sheet, scoreboard, and on field matchup.

Can anyone think of a more dominant performance against a legitimate team?

2002 Michigan and 2008 Minnesota come to mind. 2004 Ohio State was really dominant also, but Iowa had a 1-dimensional offense that year.

Yeah, that 2008 beating we laid on Minnesota was pretty ridiculously dominant. The Ferentz doesn't want to embarass anyone, so I'm surprised that we raped them that badly.

What do you think of the Orange Bowl win. Minus a pick six and a so-so offense at times I think the Hawks dominated the game. Nothing close to yesterday, but in my mind against a great opponent it's gotta rank top 5 at least. Just my opinion.

By far the most dominant win over the Cyclones really controlled the entire game could have put up 50 if we wanted. I would put it in top 5 for sure during the KF era. Go Hawks

ASU at home in 2003 was pretty dominating. It was only 21-2, but I remember the crowd being loud the whole game and never feeling like ASU had a chance.

Nothing will be as dominate as the 55-0 *** whoopin put on the Gophers. Saturday was very close because KF could have made it about the same if he would have wanted to.

2008 Minnesota as some have said, but the 34-9 at Michigan in 2002, as was also mentioned, is tough to top..that team finished ranked in the Top Ten.

I think the first half vs ISU this year was the best half of football by a Ferentz team in September, however.

I disagree. In 2002, Iowa put up 37 in the 1st QUARTER and 51 in the FIRST HALF against Akron. I think they finished with something in the neighborhood of 400 yards rushing that day.

Now, if we want to limit it to BCS-level opponents in September, then I'd agree that Saturday was the most dominant.

That's a hugely important qualification...and one of the things that has me very excited about this team. After 2 games they are performing like a characteristic "second half of the season" Ferentz team. I don't recall another Ferentz team that looked this crisp this early.

If the historical trend of Ferentz's teams improving throughout the season continues this year...wow.

that game had scores off turnovers - this game had 5 TDs. Throw in a pick 6, a fumble recovery, a blocked punt, and 35-7 turns into 49-7 really fast. and remember, we just beat a team that is going to struggle to win a conference game, IMO. given the circumstances of the game I'd say the Michigan game was one of the best wins in the KF era. On the road, v. a highly ranked Michigan team, Iowa in the very early stages of dominance, etc.

I'm not saying Saturday wasn't a dominating performance, because it was and that was a sweet thing to behold! :)

Yes, Tate deserves a lot of credit for 2004, but he was not alone. His Wr's were really really good, and not just because of their QB. Hinkel was excellent and universally loved, but Solomon was a true weapon. He caught 7 for over 130yds. and 2 Tds that Ohio State game. IMHO, Solomon is perhaps most underrated Iowa wideout of all time.

Michigan comes to mind. I remember the Michigan recievers coming out and actually cringing anytime the ball came near them. Apparently Bad Bob Sanders and some others put the fear into them.
