Was Iowa ever this good last year?

Just talking with some Hawk fans and were wondering if the last 3 games was a better Hawk team than the '15 team. Don't remember the rankings last year of teams we beat, but I don't remember being as dominating as the last two weeks and didn't beat a top 5 team like Michigan was, although winning at Wisky was our comparable win. What say you?

I would say as a team = yes.
The passing game was just plain bad in two of these games. That being said I love the fact of just ramming the ball down an opponent's' throat and the thrill of domination.

Defense was dominating obviously -- I don't remember a stretch of domination last season like these three games.

Offense was better overall last year but I believe the run game has become better this year. Outside of 2 games this year, I think the defense might be better overall this year.

The team we've seen these last 3 weeks has been pretty solid, especially on defense.

They got behind our secondary a few times today which could have made things tighter but they played well. the LB'S were great again. Dline great as well.

Hot Damnn I'm happy for our seniors ! !!

In 2015 the 40-10 win over a good 10-win NW team was pretty impressive.

The win over Nebraska reminded me of that game a little. although tbe 2015 NW was still close at half time and then Iowa cimpletely took over in the 2nd half.

The irony is that both the 2014 and 2016 team probably had more blowout wins than the the 2015 team.

We said the same thing about the passing game. It was the main thing that kept us from being unanimous.

Just hold yer horses. Iowa has played Illinois and Nebraska in their last two games. Illinois is not an offensive juggernaut and Tommie Armstrong of Nebraska was hobbled. Three games ago, Michigan decided to run power offense against Iowa (the strength of Iowa's defense) and its starting QB was injured in the final quarter and, anyway, he wasn't all that good of a passer.

Think back to what happened to Iowa's defense against Pedo State...Iowa's defense is not great. We'd better hope the defense plays an offense in a bowl like, for example, Georgia Tech's offense where the point of their attack is along the line of scrimmage and Iowa's linebackers, for example, aren't asked to cover receivers.

Side note: I hope Rugamba can play in the bowl game. His injury looked hand related. Even if his hand was broken, he can have it casted and still be an effective defensive back in the bowl game. Probably prevent him from holding...or getting interceptions. :)
