Check out the Iowa thread on VOLNATION site. It's up to 35 pages now. Lots of smack directed at Iowa. They are going after Ferentz for being over paid . Tom Davis for not ever winning a Big Ten title and trying to win with gimmick basketball. Steve Forbes for being fat with no charisma. A.D.'s like Barta calling about BP every time some highschool coach gets fired. They do want to help with our coaching search however by saying we should go after an up and coming coach like Mike Rice or we might be able to get the bald guy from Vandy. And if we go after Bruce the only thing we would have to offer is more corn.
 
Two words: Lane Kiffin (although technically Kiffin might not be a word).

The thread would have died if they weren't at least a little worried. Even if a football school like Tennessee was rumored to be after Ferentz, that thread wouldn't have gone for more than a page or two here. And they turned on their own assistant? Always a classy move...
 
Alot of their people think Pearl might at least talk to Iowa in an attempt to get a pay raise from Tenn. From what was said on several posts many of their fans don't have much respect for any of their assistant coaches.
 
For those not familiar with Volnation, it is well known as the cesspool of Tennessee message boards. Hoopsville is a better place to gauge them.

The majority of the posts on Volnation revolve around hating Bruce Pearl and several of the players.

A: If it was invented anywhere else it would be called a teethbrush.
 
I'm not going to look at their boards...it would drive me nuts trying to decypher their misuse of the english language. By the way, anyone else shocked that they even have computers in Tennessee? Maybe Cleet and Bud Jo and Bubby Ray Jr. ought to stick to makin' shine and wonderin' "Is it totally illegal to nail sis, or just 'sorta' illegal?"...
 
I read the whole thing, and about 20 pages of it is them ripping on each other about who is "more of an insider". No civility over there.

When they started saying Ferentz was overpaid, I started getting a little pizzed, but this is the same team that hired Lane Kiffen and Whatshisname Dooley, so take what they say with a grain of salt.

I frankly hope that they keep Pearl.
 
Funny that this is being talked about over here, I kinda stumbled across that site while searching for info on Bruce Pearl and was a little teed off at their Ferentz hate. I mean really hating on the Big10 Coach of the Year in a thread about Bruce Pearl? Very odd.
