"VINNIE WAGNER".

If Sundays National Duals was the last time Vinnie wears an IOWA singlet, then, what a way to finish. I believe that everyone on the Hawkeye Nation Wrestling Forum should say thanks to this young man. Vinnie is a inspiration to all young athletes in any sport. Not only did Vinnie have the wrestling responsibilities but Vinnie has the responsibilities of married life and school. Vinnie is going to become a doctor. I'm not sure a doctor of what but it doesn't matter. Good luck Vinnie.:)

If they give 184 to GG, then thanks Mr.Wagner !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

EVERY match you had the most intensity, the biggest motor. Maybe the biggest heart, especially with all that's going on in your life.
Again, thanks for your hustle!!
You went 7 minutes hard , every time. Few can say that this year.

Completely agree. Out of respect, I hope they have a private wrestle off (not just practice, but a wrestle off where everyone else forms a circle and it's just these two guys going at it) to give him a shot to keep his spot.

I hope he doesn't win, as we need someone better honestly, but give Wagner a shot.

kid obviously gives it his all, even when overmatched. that's all you can ask for. had a great weekend representing the Hawks.

Well put Castille. This kid has bigger/better things in his future. Thanks for all the work you put in, Vinnie!

Wouldn't that mean that Vinnie is the better wrestler if he won?

Big thanks to Vinnie in what turned out to be a good situation for all. The team benefited from him staying on again this year and wrestling some great matches. Vinnie got his chance for an opportunity of a lifetime to be the starter for the Hawks. It was great to see such classy competitor go out with a big win. Great job Vinnie!

Perhaps the two most demanding things on any college campus in this country would be medical school and Iowa wrestling and somehow he juggled them. Despite having to workout at odd hours he earned Coach Brands respect which might be the greatest honor of all. Definately a story to go down in Hawkeye lore right along Whitmer, Hoagland, and so many others.
