Kirk was fairly guarded in that IKM vs Goodson comment, but we should see it play out over the next couple weeks. If we plan to burn Goodson’s redshirt my guess is he’s ahead of IKM for sure and closing in on those others.
As I mentioned in another thread I’m still skeptical on the offensive line. Need to get healthy there. Good experience last week but a few P5 opponents coming up might be a little different test (especially ISU).
I think we will see improved secondary play this week, but with two good RBs it’s going to be a big week for the LBs.
From the sounds of it he won’t redshirt and he will likely get well over 30 carries.I liked what I saw from Goodson but he needs to redshirt unless of injuries etc. he is pretty small right now and I don’t see him doing much once we get into conference play. It doesn’t make sense to lose a year over maybe 30 carries unless we are in dire need
Agree, from what I saw on Saturday he does add a whole new dimension to the running game just like Wadley did when he emerged. The next test for him is can he catch the football out of the backfield? If so, look out because he's a game breaker.I do not see them redshirting Goodson, and honestly I dont think they should. The reason is that he can help this football team now with his speed and quickness, which is a different dimension than the other 3. He could provide the explosive plays we need in the running game. Mekhi is still going to be the main guy, Toren will play as well and possibly snaps at fullback, and IKM at this point is going to be insurance for injury of those two. Goodson will also get the valuable game experience. I like it.

I think he is 190 but has tremendous leg strength and does a nice job squaring up to get that extra yard or two.Is it just me, or does Goodson run like he's more than 190? He finishes his runs really well for a guy that's only 190. I don't believe it...he's 200...at least. I'm not just talking the Miami game either...watch his runs in the fall scrimmage...he always ends his runs going forward for the extra yard or two. It's a great quality to have.
