WSU has a lot of different tools that will help come tournament time. We will know more about the Hawks at the end of the current stretch. They live and die with the outside shot. If they can find consistency, they will thrive, if not they will need help from the other team.

If things go according to the current bracket projections some 1 seed is going to be very unhappy. If Iowa is a 4 or 5 seed and wins their first 2 games a 1 seed will have to face an Iowa team at least 1 round too early...IMO.

I agree that Vegas knows... However, the Selection Committee will use their system. At the end of the day a 1 seed is getting a tough draw if they get the Hawks in the Sweet 16...assuming all parties advance.

If Iowa goes 5-1 in the final stretch...and my gut says 6-0. They should win at least 2 games in the B1G tournament...if they do that they will be a #3 seed at bare minimum. Now go 6-0 and win the B1G tournament and I really think a #1 seed is possible...#2 at the least. Isn't it fun to even have this conversation

I would say it's the Vegas guys who are really the clowns here. I mean Creighton the #4 team overall and Wichita St. #16?

Iowa being a #5 seed at this time and moment is about right though I hope we play ourselves into a better seed.

To be devils advocate Creighton is a very good team. They are a great shooting team and have been developing good depth, and they have one of the best players in the nation. The McDermott kid is so good...great good and fun to watch. They have stuck the #6 team in the nation both times they have played them. Iowa being a #5 seed is a JOKE...no way this team is a #5 seed at this time...that is wrong.

Iowa is a #2 to #5 seed....I know that seems like a wide berth but it's simply the way it is right now. We control some of our own destiny but don't hold all of the cards.

A team like Wichita St is a tough one. They truly have played nobody of relevance outside of St Louis and BYU. They played both of those teams at a perfect time too. StL had just lost a week earlier in a tough game to Wisky in Cancun. StL had international travel to deal with and the emotions of losing to a damn good team in a game that they had a chance to win. WSU had to travel all the way from Kansas City, MO where they played in the CBE tournament the week prior.....wow.

WSU also played BYU in that championship game. A BYU team that just the day prior had beaten Texas in a high scoring thriller while WSU coasted to victory against DePaul who has lost 12 out of their last 15 games....

Yes WSU has talent on their team at the very top but they are thinner than ice when it comes to depth and to say their team is short in stature is an understatement.

Once WSU actually plays a team that has legit Sweet 16 talent, they are going to get smoked.

Right. Maybe if Iowa wins out they could be a 2 seed.. But if the season ended today, I think 5 is closer to the truth. And I agree - I don't think most teams would be happy about drawing us as a 5.

Creighton is a good team but not yet the #4 team and the selection committee won't make them a #1. Wichita State is a 1 or 2 now at worst. Michigan St. should be in the top 16, despite the loss to Nebby. Iowa is not headed to a #2 seed unless it comes close to winning out, something I would hope for but not predict.
