I'm watching this VCU team yet again....and let me tell you I am 100% sold and a Shaka fan now. I LOVE how he has them playing defense trapping, in your face pressure....I think I just found a team!!! Go Rams!!
 
no doubt, did you see the "ironman practice" clip though?? How could a kid not want to play for this guy....and then he can obviously coach too....the coach taking a charge...then diving after a loose ball...come on man! lol
 
No doubt Smart is an impressive person and coach, but Butler is one half away from playing in the title game for the second year in a row. That is impressive for UK, Duke, KU, UNC and a statistical impossibility for a school from the horizon league.

Stevens isn't a slouch either is my point.

Well I have no argument that Stevens is not just as impressive...but imo...it is easier to get there at Butler than VCU...Butler has always had a pretty impressive history as far as being competitive, Lickliter, Stevens, Matta, Collier?

Both are amazing.

This is my "crying in my beer" Iowa hoops fan showing through, but if Harris had committed here and we had a coaching change, guarantee he would bolt. I am sure he will stay at NC State regardless of who is named to replace Lowe. Not sure how they got any kids to sign knowing Lowe was on borrowed time before the season started.

I tend to agree. Again, this is just an agreement at VCU for now. I think some other school could throw some big bucks at him at some point and he could still leave.

What big jobs are still out there though? UNLV, Miami? Neither of those will pay as much as NC State would have. Uconn, might be open if Calhoun wins and walks away tonight. But UConn can do better than him.

Not many, you are correct. Kansas State if Martin leaves for Miami? Some other school if NC State poaches that school? I can't say for sure. And I don't know that Smart leaves for any.

I was just referring to the fact that they have an agreement now doesn't mean he can't leave for a better offer. I agree that NC State would have been good for the money.
