The team that the "experts" thought didn't belong.... by the way how good is the Big East really?![]()
Well that's one I didn't get right.
Big East=over rated
IDK. Overrated is probably a little too harsh. Louisville lost as a 4 which isn't exactly unheard of. Marquette won as an 11 beating a 6 and Gonzage won as an 11 beating the 6 St Johns so those offset. Plus Gonzaga game was pretty much a home game for them so that game wasn't really a surprise.
Did they finish 8-3 or 7-4? in the first round. Thats not terrible by any stretch.

I agree with the Big 10 seeding provides tougher matchups. However, I would rather play the #1 seeds early in the tourney (like UNI-Kansas last year). That's the chance to get them with less prep time. It may not help the conference overall record though.Again, I think that virtually every year the Big East will be proclaimed the best conference simply due to the fact that having 16 teams in a league allows the top 10 teams in the league to fatten up on the bottom 6. So they end up with less 9-9 records like a league like the Big Ten. Playing on the road in the Big Ten,with bigger arenas, and crowds, is the toughest deal in college bb,and it makes the league look mediocre...but in the end,it toughens these teams up....which is why the Big Ten has the most FF participants of any league since 1999.
The Big Ten has been the most impressive league so far...5 blowout wins, with 2 two point losses to higher seeded teams the only blemishes. The problem is that due to the downgrading of the Big Ten...the Big East got much better seedings, which means the Big Ten has to play 2 #1 seeds in the second round...while the Big East escapes the #1 seeds until next week. This year, only the #1 seeds are to be feared...maybe.
Avoiding the #1 seeds could have allowed for 5 Big Ten sweet sixteen participants...but if Illini or Wolves upset KU or Duke...now we are talking...
