Uthoff gets 2nd 10-day contract

They must see something in him. I followed his first 10 day and he never left the bench for most of the games. I'm happy for him and I think if they do a third contract he is there for the rest of the year. Nice pay check too.

2 games played. 4:40 so far. Inactive 1 game and active, but didn't play in the other. Hopefully he gets more playing time in the 2nd contract.

If he gets stronger...he has a shot. He can shoot the 3 and pull another guy with size away from the basket...that's usually a big plus.

I don't get bringing him up for a 10 day contract and then hardly letting him play to evaluate him. I know a 10 day contract is chump change in the NBA but what a waste of money nonetheless. Let JU play!

Read a good story on the net that Uthoff was in a local grocery store buying a loaf of bread and some deli meat. Just so happens that Mavs coach Rick Carlisle was there as well shopping. He told Utoff that he is now in the NBA and can splurge a bit more. Carlisle offered to pay for Uthoff's food, but he had already swiped his credit card.

I can't think of a better place for him to land. If Carlisle can't make you successful in the NBA, nobody can.

Very cool for Uthoff. Dirk is getting up there in years so hopefully some minutes open up. If anything he gets 2 years to live out his dream. How many of us can say that?
