There has been a 24 hour sea change at Fox. They now think a special concessions deal for Texas with the Big Ten is a better option. The viabilty of the Pac 10 / Big 6 combo league just got nailed with the damage that has been done to one of the league's 2 drivers. The boosters don't want to lose all those games in UT's backyard, but the money is now looking to be somewhere around a 15-20 million difference.
This might mean really good news for ISU. Texas is NOT bringing anyone with them if they come to the Big Ten. TAMU will go SEC. That leaves Baylor, Tech, KU, KSU, UofM, and ISU. That is the minimum number of common opponents to be
considered an NCAA conference. Also, if OSU doesn't get and SEC invite with OU, they would have seven. Add TCU, which kills the MWC's chance at an autobid and pair with the Big East for the same kind of 'in name only' conference that the Big 6 were going to do with the Pac Ten and you have an autobid conference that looks surprisingly balanced.
