ups and downs of a season

Guys are going to go through hot and cold spells... teams make adjustments.

We played messy tonight but we got the victory and that's all that matters.

If we shoot free throws better the last two games.. we win on the road and win this one by 14.

I'm a bit concerned about that.

These kids know what they're playing for. There's gonna be nerves. We won anyways tonight. These last 5 games will build character for the tournament. We're in crunch time now.

Iowa will need to play better if they expect to win at Penn State. At this point of the season the freshmen and sophomores have gained experience and started to catch up with the experienced players. You can't complain about officiating when you win, but the refs didn't seem all that consistent.

Coach was asked about the 19 free throws missed in last 2 games and he said he's not worried about it. Someone darn well better.

Point being... getting wins when you don't have your A game is key... and this team has shown the ability to do that.

They've been playing poorly for several games in a row now. At some point it's no longer a fluke but a legitimate concern. We've been giving up way too many open 3's. It seems like after Penn State missed everything from 3 we've let other teams take open 3's. We've lucked out that other than Indiana other teams haven't been burying them. I also haven't been impressed with our ball movement. We were assisting on a higher percentage of our baskets when we were cruising. And obviously the rebounding and free throw shooting are a serious concern.
