Updating Where Things Stand for Hawkeyes in 2019 Recruiting

Looking at some top targets, needs and guys on the radar:

Rob, do you get the sense that, despite letting the process play out, that Mr. Bell has already determined where he’s going? Or do you get the impression he’s still legitimately contemplating his “top 5”?

I’m not sure he’s equally considering each of his Top 5 but I do not believe he’s determined where he’s going.

Rob, any news on Graves or Lee out of Iowa Western? Both look like great DEs and it would be great to get either one.

Graves would be a long shot at this point. Haven't heard much on Lee recently. Will try to do some recruiting rounds next week.

Purdue sure didn’t hurt their cause for Mr. Bell on Saturday...........378 yards passing, program proving to be on the rise, close to home, putting together a good ‘19 recruiting class.

Beating the Boilers in a couple weeks with him in attendance would be good although I’ll be surprised if we land him regardless.

It might come down to if he thinks JB is going to stay with the Boilermakers.

Didn’t most of the boilers targets in the passing game go to Rondale Moore?

I suppose I would, too, if I were Rondale’s coach, but still... Bell could be (would be?) a Star right away at Iowa.

Which he's not... That game just cemented his climbing the ladder offers... Now what jobs will there be this next yr is the question. Regardless of what's open he'll be on the short list just like Campbell at ISU will be. Wonder if they have the same agent....

I've heard from another thread ( can't remember which one ) he's interested the Louisville job? I'd think there would be better jobs than that.

I could see the Louisville job opening up he's about worn out his 2nd term there. Without a stud QB and 2 or 3 receivers he isn't able to keep that job afloat. But that said I think that'd only be a half step up if anything from Purdue. If he's leaving there he'll want a top 20ish job. He probably has eyes for a ND or something like that. I've heard Campbell rumored for that too. Kelly (prior to this year anyway) had been rumored to have wore out his welcome there he's been there quite awhile now. But if they go to the playoffs maybe all bets are off on that I dunno. Auburn isn't exactly happy with their situation atm but they seemed to be financially tied to that guy for quite awhile so I doubt they make a drastic move. I'll be curious what jobs pop up this year I don't think it'll be very many
