A few things...I want your point of view.


1) Question - have you noticed that the Tiger Hawk decal on the helmets is larger than it used to be. First time i noticed was 2015 black out vs Minny. Nobody has ever said anything about it. You?

2) I think I'm ready for All White road uniform - helmet, jersey, pants, sox, shoes.. with black numerals and carefully used gold here and there

3) Would you be in favor of both teams wearing home uniforms vs Wisconsin and Nebraska and maybe ISU and Minny?

I'm not in favor of alternate uniforms. Pretty much ever.

Especially in the case of Iowa State going grayscale. I mean, like it or not, you have one of the bottom 5% combinations for your school colors. You have to wear it. You don't get to use black and white. Also, it would take 3/4s of the entire state AND 3/4s of the state assembly to change your colors. Like an amendment. Never gonna happen. You are stuck looking like an overly-kid-friendly looking clown who sells hamburgers.

As long as it is a combination of existing pants/jersey/black helmet combo I can live with it.
I don't really like the 'Murican flag tigerhawk. We get it. We all love veterans and America. We're also for clean water and we also stand against child and animal abuse. The tigerhawk is gold/yellow. Removing the tigerhawk from the helmet is acceptable and has been handled beautifully by Hayden and now Kirk. I trust them with that. No anthracite. No weird changes just to be different.

Alabama don't do that. The Yankees don't forgo pinstripes. I don't like Penn State. But their uniforms are so patently cool I am jealous of them.

Now, if you'll excuse me....it's time for my nurse to come in and turn me so I can look out the window and yell at some clouds.

I fully recognize my possibly out-of-touch stance on many aspects of college football. This is actually one of the lesser important ones, yet it's one I'm still willing to die on. Part of my vehemence comes from a local sports talk (using that term loosely, because there's a lot of non sports discussion). There's decades long debates that have raged over trivial matters like which fry is best (waffle/steak/curly/etc). What are the requirements of a "cuck situation"? Stuff like that. Including the at least sports related uniform changes. Missouri does it all the time.

So, I've had to form a strong opinion and be able to defend my position. I align with one of the hosts who plays the grumpy old guy/James May type role. We do not like messing around with uniforms.
 
Iowa's uniforms are iconic. They were designed the way they are for a reason, because the program had a losing mindset and HF wanted to pattern the program after winners, which were the Steelers at the time who just so happened to be the same colors.

Do not eff with the uniforms. Yeah, fonts change over time, etc. but you do not mess with the brand that's defined Iowa for over 40 years.

Black/white home/away jerseys, gold sleeve with 2 white stripes trimmed in black. Gold pants with a single black stripe. Black helmet with gold racing stripe and two Tigerhawks. Leave it the way it is. We are not ISU or Minnesota where they need to change their uniforms every week to try and keep people interested.

I will say that the American flag Tigerhawk once a year and blank opposite side is awesome and I love it. That should be the only change, ever. Once a year, and keep it consistent.

IF OUR CURRENT UNIFORM SCHEME WAS GOOD ENOUGH FOR THESE TWO IT'S GOOD ENOUGH FOR US
