Jarryd saw the uptempo style and was bored and probably depressed at the prospect of playing LickBall for four years with that nasty jerk Bo Ryan.....

Reminds me of Sam Okey who couldn't stand the tempo of Dick Bennett and transfered to Dr. Toms team at Iowa. One of my favorite Iowa players even though he only played part of a semester. He was a man among boys. I can still picture him facing the basket holding the ball in one hand over his head deciding what to do with it. The opponents would just back off and wait for his move.....

Since 1982 only 8 Wisconsin Mr. Basketball players in high school have gone to Wisconsin.....

I do have confidence in winning this game simply because we play Wisconsin as good as any team in the Big Ten since Fran's arrival....

I don't know if Okey is a great example to live up to. Bennett suspended him for marihuana and iowa's season didn't exactly take off nor did Okey live up to incredible talent.

Re: Uthoff, it was kind of odd that even the players on the team didn't know anything and he was playing a pickup game with them as he was transferring. Usually you see that type of thing coming from your teammate.

I know he and Bo shook hands after last years game in IC but don't know whether they crossed paths in Madison last season. I realize its one thing to sit on the bench and watch a game against your former team and quite another to be on the floor actively trying to defeat them.

Oh, but I'm sure the Badger students will be respectful...

Wisconsin is averaging 75 points per game this season. I don't think they can beat us if the score is in the 60s. Our half court defense is too good. I don't think they can beat us if it is an up tempo game...plays to our strengths. I'm not convinced they can beat us unless we play very poorly. I also think our guys want to make a statement early on that this season won't be like last season and that this Iowa team is in it for the long haul. Beware Big 10!

I don't believe Jarrod's status with the team last year allowed him to travel to away games.

You're correct, the controversy seemed more limited to Iowa at the time. Probably because it seemed like more of an instate fight and there was nowhere the presence then of sports message boards or internet sports sites looking to stir up controversy. Also, Eustachy wasn't as big of a dick as Ryan was in imposing all the restrictions on where his transfer could go or acting like the victim because the player hadn't talked (ahem) to him.
