From article:

Sophomore men's basketball student-athlete Dom Uhlwill represent the University of Iowa on the USA East Coast basketball team, Aug. 1-9. The squad will be competing in France against teams from Europe and Africa.

This marks the fifth consecutive season that a Hawkeye has traveled overseas with the USA East Coast basketball team. In 2011, Matt Gatens and Bryce Cartwright traveled overseas; Zach McCabe went in 2012; Jarrod Uthoff was on the roster in 2013; while Mike Gesell and Adam Woodburycompeted last summer.

Great opportunity for the young man, and he'll gain a lot more experience heading into the season....

Only 7 players? That is interesting. The amount of playing time will be significant.

Uhl looks bigger to me in some of the PTL videos I've seen. Hopefully my eyes aren't playing tricks on me.

Looks like Dom had a pretty good first game:

Cant wait to see Uhl's game this season. Added weight, muscle and confidence. He already has some AW in him in that he seemed to always be in the right spot. If he can tighten his handles a little bit, and develop a reliable jumper he could be tough to defend.

Gotta love this. These summer tours always bring out a lot of maturity and development in guys. This can only make Dom even more of a factor this season. Good stuff!

I agree. The coaching from another's perspective is always good too, IMO.

Awesome that Fran was able to get yet Another Hawkeye on the team!

I wonder what the qualifications are to be on the team. I mean, Uhl was the 9th man on a Big 10 team last year and averaged like 2 pts per game. Great experience for the kid, but I would have guessed he was a year or two away from being on any all star type teams. Maybe a guy like Jok, who started last year, might be a more logical choice.

It's a lottery system. Luck of the draw.

Uhl will take a giant step this year and be a solid contributor. He will be instrumental in the development of the underclassman. Love it.
