Still glad hairgel is gone. Though wondering if Fran has taken us as far as we can go. Mr. Davis practically had Iowa in the tourney every year. Fran might get his back to the tourney every 3-5 years. At least it is looking this way with this current team. Really missing a true, stud point guard and a legit big man.

Alford caused a lot of his own problems at Iowa but he was also dealing with stuff Fran doesn't have to. When Alford was here they didn't even have their own practice facility and had to share Carver with the women's team. For half the season he didn't even get the prime practice time for his team. He had to work around the women's practice schedule. When he said, 'Iowa is a football school' it pissed people off but it was pretty accurate. Lots of money going to Kinnick during his tenure.

I think you just answered your own question.

I always knew Alf was going to be able to get far better talent at UCLA than he ever could at Iowa, but the guy still is not a great coach, and still is a class A douche.
