My thinking from here on out is that any recruit that doesn't choose Iowa was paid by the school he chose. Makes me feel better, although it could be true in some cases.

In other news, it was reported somewhere we had stopped recruiting Harris. Maybe because we signed a similar player in White, the world may never know.

Maybe...but I bet it was only after we realized we had no chance. Lets be honest, we would have loved to have a top 150 recruit come here....there's really no way to spin this.

Well, considering Fran came out a few days ago and said we were only taking two in the early period, and we know that we already have two verballed, I'm not sure how today could have come as a surprise.

We aren't going to get these types of players until or if we start winning games and going to NCAA tournament. Just the hard truth. Harris went to NC State and will play with McDonald's AA C.J. Leslie plus a proven coaching staff at the BCS level. Can't blame the kid.

I'm not as down as some seem to be. We have to show some signs of things being different at Iowa before some of these top level kids will decide to come here. I think we'll open some eyes once the season gets started. If we can sign some quality JUCO talent to help us now (or even if we can't), I think we'll be able to generate some excitement with our style of play and some surprise wins. Then maybe some of these kids won't see it as taking such a chance to come here.

You cant fault these recruits for not comitting to a coach who hasnt even coached a game at Iowa yet.

And that would be incorrect. If this staff took White over Harris (which did not happen) they deserved to be fired immediately.
