Tyler Cook was the No. 1 pick in Wednesday night's Prime Time League Draft. He was followed by Iowa teammates Nicholas Baer and Jordan Bohannon:

I don't remember a time when you can look down an Iowa roster and say, we have legitimate D1 talent down 12 guys.
Cook
Pemsl
Kriener
Baer
Bohannon
Moss
Ellingson
Williams
Wagner
Dailey
Nunge
Garza

Don't we usually have a few 5'10 white guys that walked on from a small town in Iowa.

Baer is a pretty good player, but if he is the second best player on the Iowa roster that doesn't sound very good to me. Hopefully, he will have a good year.

The good thing you can say though is that there are 3 guys as good or better ( Bohannon, Moss, and Pemsl) and 3-4 that have the potential to make the leap to as good as Baer ( Kreiner, Williams, Wagner, Ellingson). We have to have Cook and Pemsl make strides in a big way, but having Bohannon, Moss, Baer, Cook, and Pemsl on the floor at the same time sounds like a pretty damn good starting five. Cook, Baer, and Pemsl need to control the glass.

I'm looking forward to seeing what Bohannon can do this year. Bohannon and the team has a lot of experience that they were lacking last year. He did pretty good in scoring and assists with learning the ropes last year. Jok helped him in the assist category, but they should be a lot more potent offensively this year.

Offense wasn't the problem last year. I'm hoping our team defense improves greatly and Cook learns how to be a force at the defensive end. With his size and athleticism...there is no reason he can't block three or four shots a game. Kreiner is another one that is going to be able to benefit from playing the level of competition he sees every day. I think he has big upside both offensively and defensively. Then we come to the elephant in the room...can we stop penetration? That's the key...having Moss, Williams, and Bohannon with another year of experience should help.

Wait... are you saying that Pemsl is better than Cook??

Cook is our best overall talent. I think Moss has the potential to be #2 but needs more consistency. Baer #3 and then JBo as #4 would be my order.
