TX WR Beau Corrales Tells HN Why Iowa Was Place for Him

He does not look fast but then you watch and he consistently is pulling away from DB's. If he can improve his quickness and route running he could be a very hard weapon to defend.

Sept 15. Iowa was coming off back-to-back games of 40+ points. Beau was excited along with everyone else. And then a little piece of paper changed everything.

At the time - "Do I stick with Texas St, or jump to Iowa? Go Hawks! I'm committed to Iowa!"

2 days later was the N D St game.

Now it's 2 months later. Iowa has lost 4, and has no passing game. Plus, he's drawing other P5 interest. "Sorry Hawks, I'm committed to finding a better offense!"

I'm sure it has a lot more to do with his offers than anything Iowa has done.

You really don't think the fact that we haven't thrown for over 100 yards in our last 2 games or the fact that we've had a total of 8 games this season in which we've thrown for under 200 yards, might be a concern for a receiver who may want to catch passes and not simply be used as a blocker?

I get that he's being recruited by bigger and better schools, but I think we're all kidding ourselves if we don't think it has anything to do with what Iowa's done on or off the field.

All I'm saying is when a kid picks a school based solely on it being his only real offer, things probably won't turn out well when he gets other good offers. Especially when you had a friend that was going to go there then decommtted under not so good circumstances.

As far as having a year like thus goes, I'm sure it raises some flags for him. But at the same time, it might be a plus if you're looking for playing time. It's not like our receivers lit um up last year when he committed.
