Two Deep For Purdue

GOD. DAMN. IT. Moderators, get off your lousy asses and ban these sorts of threads.

I'm starting to think that if you have things your way there will be no threads that hint at or remotely mention depth charts. I'll sit by and wait for others to fall in line behind you.

The one thing that stands out to me right now, is that this is a pretty deep team. If you look...and project an injury to a position group...you think...well...there is a guy with experience behind him. That's pretty rare for Iowa. Oddly enough, if LaPorta or Beyer go down...TE is probably the least stacked position experience wise.

Apparently Campbell is unavailable on Saturday (undisclosed illness). Niemann at MLB, either Jacobs/Higgins/Benson at WLB. Maybe more Dime (all via Dochtermann).

At least they're finding out a few days in advance so they can prep for his absence rather than finding out shortly before pregame.

I was looking at the Purdue depth chart (from the media because Brohm didn't release one) and their depth chart is interesting. There have like 6 transfers, including DJ Johnson (former Iowa CB) who are in the two deep. Wow...wide receiver is scary with Bell and Moore. That's not a fun thing to anticipate.

They have some young guys in the OL, so it will be interesting. The last thing that stood out was that Lorenzo Neal Jr. is still freaking there. What, is he on the Jess Settle's eligibility train?

We're gonna get piss pounded unless O'Keefe has secretly been running the offense. I just have an awful feeling about this game.

Iowa rarely gets piss pounded...and usually not by the likes of Purdue. I don't think they are as solid in the trenches as we are. If the old adage holds true...that's where the game is won and lost. The key to this game is Iowa's ability to get pressure and force a new QB to make plays off schedule. If we get a consistent pass rush...mistakes will happen. If there is no pass rush...it's going to be a long day. I will tell you though...I like Phil Parker against any first year QB. Expect them to get alot of underneath stuff...and force them to dink and dunk down the field...it's frustrating to watch...but it's points that are the key.

Big plays scare me with Purdue...if you remember the last trip to West Lafayette...they threw deep on a freshman corner - Moss and kept throwing deep...then the refs swallowed their whistles when we had the ball...except for a few suspect holding calls on us of course.
