Talking about the 13 players from Iowa right now.. It was one of the lead stories.

And some people think nobody outside of Iowa cares.

They spoke to Doctors and trainers with the Vikings and even had snippets from the Press Conference today in Iowa City.

13 Iowa players have muscle malady after workouts - College Football - Rivals.com

University of Iowa doctor John Stokes, a kidney specialist who is not involved in the players’ treatment, said the common denominator is they had all participated in strenuous exercise, which commonly brings on the disorder in otherwise healthy young people. He said the symptom is common among military recruits in boot camp and treatment usually focuses on trying to limit kidney damage.

“I’ve been at UI for 32 years and I don’t think I’ve seen 13 people get rhabdomyolysis,” he said. “It’s a fairly common diagnosis .This cluster would be unusual.”

I'm going to go out on a limb and say this doesn't fall into the "any publicity is good publicity" category, as this isnt being run by just college football 'outlets' anymore.

Heck, it is news out here on the east coast. Co-workers even been asking me about it from the get go this morning. Freaking irritating how the Hawkeyes have been in the media so much. Even this ranking by pre-season mags is ridiculous. Do they really think the Hawkeyes are going to fall off the map? I didn't see that bad of a team in the bowl game to think they are going to fall apart.
But due to media coverage everyone here thinks DRUGS, RAPISTS, THUGS, POOR COACHING (that Wisconsin game was covered and watched well here) and now POOR TRAINERS, STUPID ATHLETES.
Just one hit after the other. Afraid to hear the sports news on the way to work in the morning... started listening to music instead.
