The injuries in the secondary are getting to a concerning level. It might have been secondary injuries and a personnel issue that cost the hawks the Purdue game last year. If Banwart does work his way back into the starting position you would think the coaching staff would try to settle on a set Off line unit. But it would be great to have some decent leads in the 4th qtr to swap in some backup Off linemen.

Is Alaric Jackson still looking at several weeks of rehab?

Kirk was asked about Alaric yesterday and said he's rehabbing but they don't have a timetable. I think we'll have a better idea next week.

I'll be interested to see how things shake out on the OL. Schott has earned playing time but he has some shaky moments last week as did Levi Paulsen at RT. Kallenberger was in at LT on the second series. Ince has been brought in early.

It's been an evaluation through two weeks. We'll see if they've settled on anything or continue this way.

It's gunna be funny watching Jackson trot onto the field Saturday. Kirk's a sneaky son of a gun.

It could be done. I remember Scherff bouncing back quickly.

Truth be told, I'd rather have a healthy Hankins this week.

Was Schott playing at center for a few plays vs Rutgers?

I have heard that but don't remember seeing that. He played there during Kids Day practice. He was the No. 2 there. Maybe they were just getting some in-game, in-case reps, especially with Banwart being dinged the first two weeks.

Thanks, I thought I saw him during the game, get down for the snap at least once. It was near the end of the game, IIRC. I wasn't able to see the first half.
