Transitional bumps-struggling B1G teams.

Struggling Big Ten teams.

UW has six new coaches(and one was just fired-the OL coach) including the replacement of their acclaimed OC, Paul Chryst.

Illinois, entirely new staff.

PSU, entirely new staff(and player defections.)

Iowa-two new coordinators, two new position coaches, two retruning coaches coaching new position areas.

Michigan-a bit of struggle but being blown out by Alabama hardly makes them unique, and coming off that pasting they beat a bowl team that plays that odd triple-option offense. They're upgrading their talent

There is a common thread here. Nebraska lost to UCLA, but played fairly well and lost on the road(the Big Ten commonly loses on the west coast).

Teams that are doing well in the conference.

OSU, new coach, but argurably the best talent in the conference, and the same DC. They haven't played any team that's remotely close to them in talent level.

MSU, continuity in coaching personnel.

Northwestern, the same.

Purdue, plays a team in which no player on their squad probably received a offer from(ND) and takes them to the wire.

My guess is that the programs that are struggling are having expected transitional problems but will come out of them as strong or stronger. Probably the team with the toughest task of getting a comparable replacement is UW replacing Chyrst.

Good points. This is what most people will say though: How many of them have a head coach that's been there for 13 full seasons?

One, but that one has, by far, the biggest numbers of assistant coaching changes in that 13 year history. Not at all insignificant.
