What good is a player that practices well during the week that doesn't play well ever on a Saturday?
I guess you haven't figured out yet that he didn't know the video he made was directed at Brian Ferentz. There's one from McCaffrey also, and you know he wouldn't have done it if he knew what it was about. Those videos were from Cameo, and they just give them a script and they read or ad lib from it. Google "Cameo videos".And did any of you see the Bob Stoops video posted to BF? Told him sometimes it is better to get out of the family business.
I have watched all of the post games and press conferences, and he reminds me of an old man who has completely dug his heels in and refuses change. Even if the change is completely obvious and necessary.I did not watch this press conference, but read the whole transcript. Just by reading it, I sense defensiveness out of Kirk on the whole QB issue.
I really hope that it is the case that Kirk and his staff (from what they see on their end that we don't see) is that the offense is really garbage no matter who they trot out there. Pure garbage....because that is only the reason I can come up with why they are not giving Padilla or Labas a shot......that they are almost 100% convinced it will not make a difference.
I still don't agree though....if you don't let them have a chance in the game you will never know. But, it seemed Kirk was making some sort of excuse that most players who practice well play well and vice-versa who don't practice well don't play well. Maybe that is so, but we still never fully know with those guys if they don't play and with Petras airmailing his passes it has to be really frustrating for those two.
"Then secondly, we've got to move the ball and score points. That's what offenses do. We've never been built or wired to aim for 50 points a game. Love it if it happens, but that's not the way we play, and that's not the design of the way we play.
Yeah, first of all, clean up our play there, protect the ball, and then get the points we're capable of getting, and hopefully that will improve as we go along."
I think his is pure garbage out of Ferentz.....but this reflects the way he wants to win or lose....low scoring and grind it out.

He always refers back to the "credit" Petras has built up over the last 3 years. When a reporter actually points out the offensive point totals compared to Petras and Padilla during that span Kirk just brushes it off as if that doesn't matter. It's like he is oblivious they are winning despite Petras and not because of him.
Evidently Joe Burrow was a bad practice QB, and we all saw how that worked in the end when he finally got a chance.
I really don't think there is any chance another QB sees the field this year, barring a massive injury to Petras. He will probably still try to put him out there while injured, just in case another QB shows they are better.
