Top B10 juniors/seniors for 2012 draft

WTF???? Then you all wonder why I start a frigging thread about the media!!
"The league also continues to dominate the fullback position -- no surprise there"

And somebody better call Nebraska and tell them the B10 has FB's.

Well for starters I happen to for once agree that Prater should be up there. There is also a post in there about Ball, is'nt he a jr this year, but Herron is #2?

Unless i'm reading the link wrong I'm pretty sure those number are in all of college football. I'm not sure Prater is a lock top 5 Senior CB in the nation.

unfortunately you have to be an insider to read the entire lists so it's hard to see who he got passed over for. I still don't think it's a huge travesty.

Ya know, your right. I dont follow all of college ball. Nebraska was an only B10er with a CB in there, so I guess, I cant complain to much. Speaking of Prater, what you think happens if we start to switch it up more on D? Think his stock goes up or down or about the same?

I don't think it changes much. Like nearly every corner that Iowa has sent to the NFL under Ferentz, Prater's professional home will be at safety. His stock there isn't going to be hurt too much, no matter what we do schematically.

Flashback, HawkeyeNation, July 11, 2010 (not pointing to any individual poster, just compiling some thoughts that were the consensus back in those glory days):

"Clayborn will be a top 5 pick, Stanzi will be a late first rounder, as will Ballard, DJK will be a second rounder, if Sash goes, he'll be a third rounder, as will Paki, and Donahue goes no later than the 5th. Clayborn will end the season with between 18 and 20 bags and his constant pressure will probably give Prater and Sash each 10 picks, so Prater might declare, too, in which case he'll go in the second or third round. If Reisner can beat out C-Fed (who will prolly be starting by mid-season), he'll be a 4th rounder. Nordmann and Sandeman will each be a steal for some team in a late round. Klug won't get drafted - he's good, but Clayborn is going to hog all the stats so no one will recognize his potential. Binns and McNutt will both come back for 2011 to improve their draft stock and make a run at a second consecutive national title."

LOL! Nobody in their right mind would have stated that Paki, Sandeman, or Nordmann would have been draft picks. Furthermore, only a fool would have thought that Reisner would have struggled to beat out Fiedorowicz.

Funny satire ... but it seems a bit too fictional. And even if it was a legit post ... it's not at all representative of what even the homer-hawks of the world would have contended.

Nobody said that.

I made a post pretty similar to that and I am still shocked that Donahue and Reisner didn't get drafted. I think the rounds are off, but the gist is pretty close.

Here is a link: 2011 NFL Draft from an Iowa Perspective | Hawkeye Nation

Reisner's placement in the draft was largely dependent on his "testing" numbers.

Donahue not getting the nod was a little surprising.

DJK would have gotten drafted had he actually played his hand right and managed to get Ferentz's "NFL blessing." Unfortunately, DJK never earned that level of trust from KF ... and it ended up costing him.
