Top 10 coaches who won't survive the 2013 season

Why is Paul Rhoads on the list? He isn't quite as loved as Fred Hoiberg, but it is pretty d@mn close. Barring major scandal that dude is entrenched in Ames.

Someone needs to tell the Bleacher Report about all the momentum Rhodes is building in Ames. When he rolls off another five wins this fall, that momentum is just going to keep on growing too.

Everyone has to make a living someway. These guys get to do it buy just throwing something out there they know nouthing about

Where do you sign up for a gig like that? Pay me a high 5, low 6 figure salary I could throw feces against the wall and see what sticks.:)

Paul Rhoads? Hes a frickin hero in Ames for going 6-6

All the Rhodes hero worshipping in Ames makes me feel bad for McCarney, he won 7 or more games in five out of six seasons, won two bowl games, had an actual good team one year and then got ran out after one 4-8 year. Rhodes has one winning season and ISU fans act like its the greatest accomplishment in the history of their program and now even if they go 3-9 this year, he won't be on the hot seat since it's a rebuilding year for them. A rebuilding year from three straight losing sesons....

ummmm, did you decide to post the link to the article before you saw who was on the list? Trying to bait section136?

I don't know what kind of leaps in logic you're making over there. I just saw this article, noticed it included Ferentz (and Rhoads) so I posted the link.

No conspiracy.

This guy (comments section)is trolling, right? He has to be:

"I'm also getting really tired of sports writers and commentators (Ubben and even Charles Barkley) thinking they can just say whatever they want to about Iowa State. We are a school of over 30,000 people and we matter. A lot. Last year we brought tens of thousands of fans to the Liberty Bowl, and the City of Memphis loved us."

Your very out of touch for many reasons.

An easy way to describe it for you. When Dan was here we had 4 non con games and didn't play a round robin conference schedule. We'd go 3 years without seeing Texas, OU, or TT. Now we play them all and Iowa State's SOS the last 3 years has been in the top 5 every year I believe. Back when Dan was beating up on teams to get to 7 wins, he was doing it with schedules around the 70's.

An easier way to describe it to you. It's like Iowa State winning 6 games with their schedule and Iowa winning 7 with theirs. Every knowledgable football fan realizes the 6 wins is more impressive b/c it came against tougher teams :p

If anyone's seat should be warm it is that of the writer.

Neither Ferentz or Rhoads are going to lose their jobs.

Your point about playing fewer non-conf games might be valid if McCarney was putting up losing B12 records like Rhodes, but he wasn't he was going 4-4 in the B12 in all those years he won 7 games, Rhodes can't get past 3 B12 wins despite having an extra conference game.

You telegraphed that one worse than an Austen Arnaud pass. But it was almost funny.

And by "every knowlegeable football fan", you of course mean, "every football fan in Story county". Wait...that's an oxymoron.

Hey the B12 teams they beat had a combined conference record of 8-19! That's a tough schedule!
