Too quiet on recruiting

Only recent news is possible defection of Ross. Need some good news ASAP on this front

It's fall training camp. Not near as much recruiting action going on while coaches around the country are concentrating on getting their team ready to play. We will start seeing some action once game day visits and the high school season start.

August is typically a quiet month in recruiting. The coaches are too busy with the current team to spend a lot of time visiting or hosting many recruits, and they're waiting to see game film from the early season before offering new guys. I expect things will pick up dramatically after high school teams start play in the next 7-14 days.

Iowa had some early momentum in the recruiting game with their instate success and some spotted success outside of the state. They have plenty of offers out there and they're still spending some time talking to prospects but all in all I would agree that things have become quiet.......except for Ross P. There are plenty of verbals still taking place (in the BIG as well as others) even with staffs focusing their efforts on prep for the upcoming season.

Like many of the recent seasons we've had most players leave after a visit saying good things but we've been unable to convert a good number of them for whatever reason. We've made some offers to players that don't necessarily have a stellar list of schools in pursuit yet we still can't get them off the fence.

Much rests on this season's on-the-field performance.
