too much help defense, double teaming when not needed

Once again the hawks seem to leave their man to double team and provide help defense when it is not needed and the guy they leave is wide open to drain a 3 point basket.

Just stay with your guy and play tough man to man and when in zone matchup and dont hedge over to help a teammate

Something all of a sudden is missing, what is missing?

Iowa's the most fundamentally poor defensive teams year in and year out under Mccaffery. Always standing straight up, running into screens, running at shooters instead of being in a stance under control. Same **** different year. Iowa's hope on D is teams just miss open shots.

I agree, I am seeing the hawks defenders not being squatted down and up and under the grill of the opponent, leaving guys on the perimeter totally alone when trying to help teammates when they dont need to help teammates.

Two wisky reserves go for 13 pts over their combined avg tonite which is the differnece in the game.

It wasn't the D this game. I thought it was good barring some easy dunks. 65 pts let up while you are supposedly this explosive O should win 100% of games at home. We scored 25 points in the second half, and I believe we had like 8 points in the first 2 mins...so 17 points in 18 minutes....wasn't the D.

I agree too, perimeter d seems like someone is wide open. They look confused on where they are supposed to be
