Today's struggles make me miss the offensive firepower of Alford.

Yep, just like when Lute left you're seeing the Iowa program doing worse than its former coach's program. Alford has regularly made the tourney and has been a mainstay in the top 25. We're sooooooo much better off than NM. We beat Dayton in the NIT last year.

There is a reason he isn't coaching in one of the Power Six conferences, can you figure it out?

His string of UCLA transfers is ending, so I am not sure how he is going to get more players.

Alford is a very good coach, and he improved a ton while he was at Iowa. It's too bad he burnt so many bridges and lost so much of the fanbase because I really believe our program was about to turn the corner when he left.

But the truth is he won one NCAA game during his time here, his success wasn't enough to make up for losing the fan base.

Disagree, the best thing for Iowa was him leaving, but they made a bad hire once he left that makes people believe Alford was better than he really was.

Here is what I remember for the Alford days:

1. Arrests
2. Academic eligibility issues with recruits, consequently scrambling to fill spots every Spring
3. Transfers
4. The University selling its soul for PP
5. Underachievement

Oh yeah, he took a leak on anything that represented Integrity.

Also, you know Al Horford should have been a Hawkeye?
Horford decommitted from Florida and openly said he wanted to communicate with Iowa, it never happened.

Wow, your memories, save for PP, sound similar to Iowa football 2005-present.

Alf is in the perfect place for his skill set. New Mexico doesn't care about anything but winning.

Gotta be killing him, however, that Crean is doing so well back at good ole IU. That job likely wont open for a while.
