Great game tonight. If White continues to shoot the three well...it certainly makes us a very tough team to defend offensively. I'm excited to watch these last three games.
When you step up in competition at tournament time, you just can't turn the ball over that many times with opportunities to extend your lead. You also can't miss four straight free throws, three of which were one and ones. This team drives me crazy at times as running the offense and GETTING A SHOT AT THE BASKET is critical as you move through the last 5-6 minutes. I think we had 4-5 turnovers in a short period, plus missing the free throws. Iowa kept this game close...Illinois didn't.
I'm thrilled with a great win, but they need to clean that up. Most of those turnovers were simply poor passes or decisions...not great defense. The one thing this team is proving they can do is defend. Illinois made a ton of tough shots tonight...that also kept them in this thing...the defense was very good. Normally a 26 or 27 foot three isn't going to be a good shot, but they made 4-5 of them.
