who claimed all season that this defense was "vaunted".....that had all the stats in the world to back up their so-called claims.....what say you now?!?! This makes it five, count 'em, FIVE instances where the defense has given up the go-ahead score in the last 5 minutes of the game.
This defense had all the heart of the Tin Man and all the Courage of the Cowardly Lion......oh, and our coaching staff has all the brains of the Scarecrow.
This so-called "turnaround" from the Fat Cats Era lasted all of a couple years and the first instance of this having a little bit of adversity, what happens??? They freaking QUIT!!
It is now apparent to anyone with only half a brain that last year was merely an aberation......we got a helluva lot of lucky bounces. This year, there were no bounces....we just got flat out beat, out coached and out muscled in every defeat. It's almost like all year we were waiting for some kind of "break" instead of creating our own. Well, we see how that all worked out.
I'm predicting the official end to the Ferentz Era. Not that he will leave or get fired, but 6-6/7-5 seasons will now be the norm until he leaves....no more top 8 finishes, no more January bowl games. What we thought was a re-awakening last year was really just the end of the run.
Well, it was fun while it lasted.
