Time to move on and support our Seniors next week

I know that I will be making my game day trip to Kinnick Stadium next week from Kansas City. 5 hrs up, 5 hrs at Kinnick, 5 hrs back. Today was very disappointing, but at the end of the day AC, Klug, Ballard, Ricky, DJK, Sandeman, JV, Tarp, Hunter, and all of the other seniors are in fact the reason we have come to have so much emotion these last few years. Adrian was a 1st rounder last year and he came back I am sure in part for us as fans, He needs our support next week. Ricky went from being critized for his footwork by KOK at the last FanFest during a QB multi-step drop drill to be a great Hawkeye QB. Remember he was behind, JC, Marvin, and Nelson. Look at what he has given us through really his hard work. Ricky stepped up big for us during his career, perfect he is not, but we should support him next Saturday in what is his last game at Kinnick Stadium. These are just a few examples, I am sure you all have your own memories from the members of this senior class.

Today's loss and what has transpired during this season has been extremely dissapointing and I know people think they deserve some sort of explanation for their expectations not being met.

Regardless of which camp you are in, whether you thought this would be an 8-4 team or playing in the NCG, you should still come out and support this senior class. They deserve it. They are why we live and die Hawkeye Football.

Come for the pregame senior ceremonies, leave after the first quarter when its 21-0 OSU.

I agree that we need to support the seniors next week and I will be there same as always doing so but in terms of moving on...it's way to early for that. Don't expect a moving on until at least Tuesday for most on here.

Never have and never will leave an Iowa game before the clock hits zeros, but to each his own.

I will always support our players, Love them all for wanting to wear the black and gold. Lets go hawks.

come for senior walk and then leave after first quarter. UI should rovoke your ticket rights......

Best part is that I get my tickets for free.......... So at most I lose the gas that I used to drive there and money I might pay to park.

will go, root the Hawks on and see the sr's off but doesn't mean I'll be happy with not meeting expectations.

Agree....many times i make the one day trip and am gone from 5am and not back home until close to 2am. It would never cross my mind to leave until after the clock hits zero.

No point of going to just leave early in my opinion.

As disappointing as Arizona was, as gut-wrenching as Wisconsin was, another kick in the teeth from Northwestern has me on the ropes. This season, sadly, is reminding me of Lemony Snicket's series of unfortunate events...

But here's the kicker, as it were. My wife and I live in Saudi Arabia. We teach at an American school. But we'll be making the trip to Kinnick for OSU on Saturday. Now that's a road trip...

We fly out of Riyadh about midnight, Saudi time, on Monday, and arrive in Cedar Rapids around 6:30.Tuesday night, Iowa time. We'll visit relatives in Waterloo for a few days, then our son will fly in from LA on Friday and we'll all see our first Hawkeye game in Kinnick in 17 years... My son flies back to LA on Sunday, my wife and I fly back to Saudi on Monday, arriving late Tuesday night, Saudi time. We are supposed to be back at work on Wednesday... But then it's only about 10,000 miles and 30 hours of travel time -- each way...

When we made these plans early last summer, we had hoped the OSU game would be for a Big Ten title, Rose Bowl and Top Ten ranking. You can't imagine -- or maybe you can -- how sick we felt when -- watching live on ESPN.3 -- all those great expectations were crushed like so many Pepsi cups in Evanston.

I won't be recovering soon, but we'll still make the most of the time with our son and hope the Hawkeye seniors can go out in style.

We have chance to do something this season that probably has never been done by an Iowa team - beat Penn State, Michigan, and Ohio State in the same season. You bet I'll be at the game cheering until I'm horse!
