Those are sweet. The other throwbacks worn a few years back were awesome as well with the all gold helmets. I am all for staying consistent and just wearing the same unis all the time, but part of me wishes they would put these throwbacks in the lineup more often.

I wouldn't mind that, though I may try to save up for one of the game-worn sets. That'd just be really cool.

I think the way they are doing it now is perfect, sadly it was because one of Iowa's greats passed away, but wasnt a few years back because of Kinnick stadium's 50th anniversary? Keep doing them for meaninful purposes. Bring the wings back when Hayden is elected into the CFB Hall of Fame!

Im iffy about the pro combat unis but the gloves they were rocking in the Orange Bowl were sweet.

I wouldn't be surprised if the throwbacks are made of the Combat material. The designs last year were just gimmicks to draw attention to the new material.

Little steep for me, if i were to spend that much on memorbilia it would be a MJ autograph ball/jersey which runs close to 800.

Well it's the helmet is part of the package, and those are pretty pricey. Besides, being a student at the UI, I could load the helmet up with autographs and stuff to make it a little more worth it.

yea, but the OSU and Texas jerseys weren't gimmicky, they were throwbacks. who knows, may still be time to decide for combat.

Well Texas' uniforms weren't really that different. Those were pretty strict to the throwback design, not much modernizing at all. So obviously schools have the choice to do traditional designs with the new material.
