Thoughts on new end-zone?

Kind of ironic how fans complained about wanting the water tower painted for years, and now it has only to have the new end-zone so high up that it cuts off part of the tiger hawk logo.

I was in section 124 here was my view of the water tower.

I didn't like it at first, but I'm starting to come around to it. Hopefully they do the South endzone similar some day. I'm not a big fan of the stadiums that have a huge upper deck on one side, or one end zone. I like symmetry. But that's just one of my quirks. :)

When is the rest of the children's hospital expected to go up? According to the plans I've seen, that water tower is coming down anyways in the future.

I totally agree on the symmetry perspective. I hope they do the south end zone like the north at some point so it matches. I think that would look really really good. All in all, the field looks really goood, hawk at 50 looks great, new end zone, water tower, childrens hospital sky line,...I’m happy.

As TK said, my understanding was the water tower is coming down and this was temporary.

Makes me wish they'd painted it sooner.

I sat in row 7 of the 3rd deck and was impressed. It felt like we were right on top of the end zone ... great view. The extra legroom does not sound like a big deal until you experience it. If I'm scalping for a ticket, I will now consider the north end zone equal to anything on the sidelines unless it's inside the 40s.

I sit about 10 rows up on the press box side, I thought it was a little louder. I'm pissed that they didn't get the other screen up, I didn't realize how dependent I was on the old one when the team was on the south end of the field...until it wasn't there. It looked like it was a mess under the north bleachers, admittedly I am not a construction guy, but it looks like they got all of the hard stuff done, not sure why they didn't pour concrete down below and many of the other easier simple things, but like I said I will admit that I don't know what I am talking about.

I love it! Looks impressive as well as intimidating! Now let’s build an identical one just like it in the South end zone. Oh man! How loud would that make the stadium seem?

I would trade the north end zone and the water tower for a first time All American wide receiver. It is amazing to me that we have had All Americans or first team Big Ten players at linebacker, tight end, OL, DL, running back etc etc but we can't seem to find a great WR. What a difference it would make for this year's team.

I sit in Section 130 towards the north end of the west stands. The stadium certainly does feel different. I definitely though it was louder than before, and it also seems that there is likely to be much less wind at field level now. I totally agree about the water tower and missing the second video board.

My coworker has seats on the west corner of the new north section and she said it was awesome.
