Thoughts after watching BIG tonight

--MSU is definitely the best team. They were playing a young UK squad but one that is LOADED with elite talent. MSU has talent and experience. That's the difference. I see MSU going 15-3 at worst in BIG

--Nebraska is going to be better than 12th. No question about it. Can I put in a vote for Tai Webster for being on the All-frosh team already? Kid is going to be good and Nebraska has some other parts as well. Playing in front of a packed arena every night instead of a dead gym will help them. Nebraska like Iowa is definitely rising. Maybe not this year but next year they crack Top 6

--Indiana is not to be feared this season. There is some talent on IU but nothing like what they had with Zeller, Watford, Hulls and Oladipo. Plus Crean isn't a coach to fear. That being said, LIU-Brooklyn isn't terrible

--Whoever doubted Bo Ryan prior to the year is just dumb. "Lost 3 interior guys, where will the rebounding/defense come? The new rules will kill their system" blah blah blah. Fact is Bo is a great coach and his teams play sound defense---not hacking defense. Pencil UW in for another Top 4 finish. They'll be just as good as always

Whoever doubted Bo Ryan prior to the year is just dumb. "Lost 3 interior guys, where will the rebounding/defense come? The new rules will kill their system" blah blah blah. Fact is Bo is a great coach and his teams play sound defense---not hacking defense. Pencil UW in for another Top 4 finish. They'll be just as good as always

I agree with everything you wrote except I am not convinced on this. Florida was missing a couple guys due to suspension and one of their guys is just getting back from having mono and they had to play Eli Carter who still isnt 100% after breaking his leg. The team Wisconsin beat last night at the Kohl Center should not have been ranked #11 in the country. The Gators at full strength would have beat the Badgers last night.

Florida was missing a couple guys due to suspension and one of their guys is just getting back from having mono and they had to play Eli Carter who still isnt 100% after breaking his leg. I wasn't that impressed with Florida or St. John's. Wisconsin will be solid no doubt, but I don't think we will any worse than split with them this year and could possibly sweep them.

I wasnt impressed with St Johns either and Florida would have beat Wisky by 10+ at full strength. I would be disappointed with anything less than a split with Wisky as well this year.

Also, I think the B10 will be just as good as last season but in a different way, there will be more depth to the conference but there will be less elite teams this year. If that, is the case then I think it's a very good year to have the conference schedule we have.

Neither of those are theories. Florida really was missing three players:

I admit to projecting Wisky to drop to 6th in the league after losing their whole front court. They have surprised me in how Bo has gone small, and adjusting to get his 5 best on the court. Dekker and Kaminsky are holding up as their big men so far, but I still wonder if they have enough bigs to get by...but so far, so good. They are shooting the 3 well so far, and that is allowing them to win. Often teams that depend on three pt shooting get tired legs by late January and struggle...we will see.

They will not be in the top 6. I have a hard time imaging they could make the top 8.

MSU - I agree they are the best team in the conference. That's why my signature has Iowa finishing 2nd. I also think Michigan State has much less room for improvement. Most of their top players are very good and won't get much better as the year progresses.

Nebraska - I won't pretend to know much about them this year. I will be shocked if they are top 6 in the conference this year or next year.

Indiana - I don't fear them. I also won't dismiss or overlook them.

Wisconsin - Ryan can coach...no doubt. Their defense will suffer if the new rules are enforced IMO. Most are likely to agree with this statement. I don't think they will be as good as they have been. I don't think they will finish in the Top 4. I won't argue that they could be "as good as always" or at least last year and lose their 1st game in this year's NCAA Tournament.
