was a better brand of basketball all around. even when they struggle the Hawks are more fun to watch than they have in years.

great things ahead. In Fran I trust.

good coaching + better talent =big ten relevance again = national relevance again.

We will miss Matty Fresh and man I wish he had one more year.

Go Hawks

Agreed, this year a lot of people were really concerned with BIG play and it was justified. A funny thing happened though, Iowa was very competitive with the overally lack of talent that is on the roster. There is some good talent on the roster, but just not enough to overcome the early issues and it is unfortunate because Iowa would have been an NIT team lock if they hadn't lost some of the OOC conference games early. There were some losses that were head scratchers, but wins of the same.

When a player or two was off, Iowa lost and that is just a direct reflection of the lack of overall talent. What Iowa was able to accomplish in the BIG is a testament to Fran and his staff.

Iowa truly has turned the corner, the majority of the quality talent returns, with just Gatens leaving and yes, it is sad he doesn't have another season as I believe Iowa will be an NCAA tourney team next year.

In all honesty, why isn't Fran talked about for COY, considering where Iowa was picked. Belien should be COY, but they job Fran has done is remarkable...lets see him with real PG depth, do not care if they are freshman or not, and all indications point to having real quality depth, not just depth.

Great year, hope Iowa can win at least one game in BTT and get some real consideration for the NIT.

no problem and sorry i am so used to seeing people jumping somebodies post with out bringing anything to the thread
as for COY to many coaches are in line, Belien if Michigan finishes 2nd in conference play, NW i they make the dance something they have never done, in the end the winners get the spoils that are given out.
Marble and White are sure to start, there will be 3 openings in the starting 5, as i will have to see how McCabe develope between now and next season, i feel that Gesell will start at the pt, and either Basabe or McCabe will start at the 4 with Woodbury or Olaseni starting at the 5 to give Iowa a true post prescence,
it is going to be fun once again next year watching the young players grow into their roles, it will depend on the OOC schedule as to how many games we win,
my question is who replaces Taylor for Wisconcin, Shurna for NW, Hummel and Jackson for Purdue, Green for MSU and Sullinger for OSU, these are all big losses to over come for anybody
