This win is kind of a big deal in a few ways......

Sloppy game but really, a good win. Stopped a slide. Separated the team from 2014. Got a tiny bit of mo back headed into tourney time.

I think this is a pretty darn big deal.......

for some reason I'm not terribly thrilled with it. We only won because Michigan played like crap and Utah got his game back.

We needed a "W, and yes. It was sloppy but it stopped the bleeding. Get some rest, get some confidence going into the BTT and see what happens

I wouldn't say it was sloppy. I think it was a solid win against a good team under their roof. The Hawks mostly looked like themselves again and that's the biggest deal of all.

This was a must win for the Hawks from a mental standpoint. It was good to win again. But man did they look ugly at different points thoughout the game.

Also nice to get off the chance of being a 7 seed in the B10 Tourney and have to deal with Sparty. That's the last thing I wanted to see right now. I don't care if we beat them twice already they are on fire and I want us to play someone different. If we meet them in the Finals that's perfectly ok.

To be fair, there are very few teams that do not look "ugly" at one point or another during games. Iowa looked the most like itself in a couple of weeks.

sloppy win > clean loss
I think we've all seen and had enough losses this year, time to go on a winning streak.

I think we have to give Iowa their due tonight. The slide has been highly disappointing/unacceptable considering what was on the line, but they did win at Michigan. Iowa usually does not win there and that was a decent win against a fringe NCAA tourney team fighting to get into the tourney. I expected Iowa to lose this game.

I think we just need to win ONE Stinking game in the BTT.

Only Steve Alford has brought us any success in the BTT.

Need a bit more momentum going into the NCAA.

I really don't want to see us shoot like crap and exit the BTT again right away.

THAT has gotten beyond old.

I think this win in terms of the following positives

Won a road game
Won a B1G road game
Won a road game on scUM's senior night
Won a road game vs a team desperate for an NCAA invite

Got off to a fast start
Uthoff found his stroke
Endured 4-5 challenges and withstood them

Sure, scUM's without two senior starters. I get that.

But the way the last four games have gone, getting it done will do wonders for this team.

Welcome back Mojo.

It's YUUUUUGE! Iowa is gonna be great again! And, by the way, despite their small hands, they found their stroke again, if you know what I mean and, it's shooting well and works great and it's terrific and will be better than those other guys could ever do because, frankly, Minnesota or Ill-ANnoy are terrible; they're terrible! Iowa will do a terrific job beating them and then will beat Purdue or Maryland or whoever because Iowa is going to be great and Purdue or Maryland or Indiana are lying basket cases.

Go Hawks!

There's a lot of true stuff in this thread. On one hand, regardless of it being sloppy it was a good win against a team on the road that knew it realistically needed to win to keep its NCAA hopes alive. So there's that. That said, I also agree that the team really needs to win 1/2 games in the B1G tourney to keep it going. A one-game flameout against a bad team with a game disadvantage would not only be disheartening, it would continue the trend of the program's inability to win March games. If they get to the B1G semis, I feel decent about their chances in the NCAAs. If they lose before that, we're back on the ledge again.

Maybe the most important factor right there - This team seems to go as Uthoff goes and he'd just been off during the previous 6 games or so. If he's on and plays more like he did in January, I think we can beat anyone. The other factors you mentioned are big too, though.

*IF* Iowa loses their first game in the BTT against, say, a Purdue or Maryland, there's no crime in that, but I definitely want to see them build some mo by getting to the semis or title game..
