To me, this is the most important dual on the schedule and I think its far more important to the wrestling community than the hawks (except for, perhaps, phil keddy). Heres a team that started at zero and built a program from nothing, sat and waited 7 years for the ncaa to declare them d1 eligible and now finally gets their chance. With the seemingly constant cutting of programs, its so important to support wrestling at any school (except iowa state, haHA) and the publicity for utah valley to bring the most prolific program in the history of the sport in for a dual is a huge boost for wrestling in the area and definately goes a long way to creating a buzz about not just the program but the sport as a whole, which in the end is great for every program. Granted it gives the hawks a chance to do some recruiting but they didn't have to take this match and yet the top program travels to a team that just became D1, I think it says alot about the hawks and how important they are to the sport of wrestling.

The wait is worth it for Utah Valley, which is eligible for NCAAs after seven years | TheMat.com - USA Wrestling
