This game really wasn't that Important

This game honestly didn't feel important to me. This ruined our National Title hopes pretty much and I didn't expect us to make it that far but the Rose bowl is still very in reach. We had 1 turnover the whole game and yes D game up alot of yardage but this isn't common for us especially against the West Coast spread. Plus that trophy was a toy football from the vending machine at walmart. This loss isn't devastating but it does kinda suck. This team can mature and turn out to be a good ball club.

Not important if you don't consider what our pathetic defense means for the remainder of season. It will be brutal when we plan good teams. ISU sucks. We made them look good. UNI would beat us by 20+ very sad.

Kinda like Arizona last year, didn't matter because it was a non-conference game but you sure learned early they couldn't stop teams when they need it most.

Are you being serious?

Yeah. Losing to Arizona and ISU are the same things.

Iowa couldn't stop ISU all day. They were just outplayed. Of course they weren't going to stop them when they needed it most, if they couldn't stop them at all. The offense played fairly good, the defense not so much.

It may not seem important now but we may have needed a win today to help us get bowl eligible and from what I saw today we are gonna have to improve a lot to win 6-7 games.

Really? Not important? The team that we had crushed the past two years and had just squeaked by UNI manhandled our defense. Do you want to know the last time Iowa State scored 44 points against us? Never. Closest was 2002 with 36 points.

The last time any opponent scored 44 on us? 2004, against Arizona St.

Unless ISU surprises everybody and goes 11-2 or something, we've found possibly our weakest defense in years. And that is not a particularly comforting thought for a team that relies on a strong defense to bolster a usually low scoring offense.
