This could get very interesting, they look like they are having fun

Woody is finding some offense, Jok is shooting with confidence, Mike G is playing well (he didnt have to shot many jumpers today), White and Uhtoff are solid, Gabe and Clemmons playing well off the bench. Some very good ball movement in the first half and really good defense.

the hawks need to work against the press and they were a little sloppy with the ball the second half but a great first half. They have a good chance to win the next 3 and be at 9-4.

A 6-2 finish could probably lock up #2 by themselves. I dont try to look ahead too much but this group is playing well right now and they look like they are enjoying playing ball together at this time of year.

I forgot to add the only negative seemed to be the 19 turnovers mostly in the second half against the press.

this is the best basketball of the Fran era. I hope they keep it up. I think they will.....very unselfish group of players

There will be no collapse like last year. Makes you wonder what the whole story was for the team last year.

As I started this thread I was wondering about last year also. makes me really think it was a chemistry thing, a Marble dribbling too much thing.

This team is passing crisp, making their moves, and either shooting or passing quick again.

ehhhh, The 15-3 start last year was the best basketball of the FM era. Since then transition buckets haven't been easy to come by.

Let's not go back to putting it on Marble.

Uthoff is so much better of a player this year.

Mike has been great these past two games and so has Woody. Gabe has improved.

I wasnt putting the whole thing on Marble but maybe more of a chemistry thing with a star player like Marble and role players. Maybe things didnt mesh toward the end of the year.

And as someone said earlier in this thread they just didnt shoot well the last 10 games last year which had as much to do with it as anything with their mood.

Fran is finally finding his rhythm with this team and his substitution pattern. Jok and Woody need 25-30 min. Gesell 30+ Min and White and Uthoff 35+ min. No reason to use the bench much except to rest the starters a few minutes.

And a week ago, in the midst of an ugly 3-game losing streak, the tar was boiling and the feathers were being plucked.

Same after back-to-back losses to ISU/UNI.

My point? Myoptic and short-term indicators run rampant on this board.

Jok is the X-factor. He is really stroking it right now.
Nail. Meet Hammer.

Plus, the dude makes passes that no one else on the team does. His passing/assists are as fun to watch as his shooting. When he learns to defend consistently; kid is going to be very good.

I'm trying not to get to high or low on this team........history shows they are an up and down program under Fran. Goals will be met/exceeded if they can get to the NCAA cleanly. If they do anymore than that would be a pleasent surprise.

And it only took 1 and 2/3 of a season to figure it out.

I'm not trying to rag on JO but it's more than a bit of coincidence that he didn't play today and we had a historic fg% day.

I'm just glad Fran doesn't have the option of McCabe this year or we'd probably still be seeing both Gabe and Woody on the bench to end games.
