Things fell into place...

You could watch 6 football games and not see any of the following... Today...not just 1 happened, they all did.

1. Wisconsin goes for it on 4th and 1 inside the Iowa 5 in the 2nd quarter...most teams wouldn't even consider doing that early in a game. Wisconsin gets a touchdown.

2. Iowa has an extra point blocked.

3. Iowa botches a snap on a 30 yard FG and turns it over on downs.

4. Wisconsin fakes a punt on a 4 down inside their own 40...have to admit...I had a bad feeling that was coming...don't see it often though.

5. Iowa is offsides on a kickoff...seriously...how often does that get called.

I am sure I am missing some things, but this all occurred and Iowa still was ahead by 6 late and had an opportunity to go and win the game. I actually felt pretty confident they would. The time management was awful. When they sneaked it...the spike should have automatically been the next call. No excuses for that. Remember though, the coaches do get it right most of the time...remember Iowa's time management at Michigan State last year...the coaches usually get it right.

In addition, when Wisconsin needed 4 yards on the 4th down on the last drive...was it any surprise they isolated an Iowa LB on a slant with the RB...it wasn't the 1st time Wisconsin had isolated Iowa's LB on a RB...most of those times didn't end well for Iowa.

The result of the game is no doubt frustrating...no way around it, but at the same time, it is what it is. All Iowa can do is get back to work and improve. Which I am sure they will.

Lastly, I am going to hear a lot of crap this week. I live in Northwestern Illinois and a majority of people around here are Badger or Illinois fans. I expected to take some nonsense from Badger fans every now and then, but I am actually starting to hear some Illinois fans puffing out their chests. Yeah, Illinois fans talking confidently about football...

Have a good rest of the weekend Hawkeye Nation. Every day is still a gift.
