The Wave Question?

This new tradition of waving to the kids at the hospital, who created this new and fantastic tradition? I have heard that it was actually one of the Kid Captains from the past who was introduced at Kinnick and he looked up and waved to the kids in the hospital. Also, it is great to see other fan bases in Kinnick waving as well, PSU fans did two weeks ago and I was truly impressed when the Illinois players and coaches also waved to the kids today.

It's a big deal, heartwarming...and although not the main point, it's byproduct is unbelievably good exposure.

Some fan brought it up on the Hawkeye Heaven Facebook page. It got speed and took off from there is how I understand it.

it was nothing more than a thought for a fan named Krista Young, who thought it would be neat to wave to the kids. She floated the idea to Levi Thompson, the Hawkeye Heaven founder. Levi posted it on his page and it just took off from there.

It's cool as hell that other teams are doing it. MSU waving from their stadium almost makes me not want to hate them.

Thought it was awesome that the refs lined up and waved today along with the Illinois players...even lovie was waving

but why not invert it and wave to the kids instead of the camera?
