There is no such thing as a Sports Illustrated cover jinx. How many SI covers have there been? A couple thousand? Of course there will be some bad luck for some of them.

Some of the so-called "jinx" may be because the person/team featured let the fame go to their head.

The SI cover didn't seem to hurt guys like Michael Jordan.

the only bad luck for UNI is facing MI State in March. Izzo teams almost always play great come tournament time.

Already shot your "didn't hurt Jordan" argument down in an another thread...but let's play again...

SI did a study on their own jinx and found it happens 37.2% of the time...as for Michael...

Own son picked B.J. as his favorite player

Comes off as a d-bag at his HoF induction

Buys majority piece of CHARLOTTE???

And yes 83...I'm just joking around with you...the only jinx UNI ran into was Tom Izzo and Michigan State.

MSU was simply better even w/o Lucas. Izzo gets the most out of his teams in March and you better play a darn good 40 minutes to beat them.

Hey, it's all good Shane!

That being said....EVERYONE has tragedies in their life. How many times has Jordan been on the cover? Did his play start sucking afterwards? How about Jack Nicklaus? There have been a lot of people on the cover who's careers did just fine afterwards.

I agree...the only jinx UNI ran into was Michigan State. UNI would lose to MSU probably 7-8 times out of 10.

I take that back...there WAS a jinx on UNI......Marty Tirrell guaranteed a UNI victory this past week. 'Nuff said!
