Was the last time we played in Philly, March 1980? Not at the Palestra but the Spectrum. I was there, one of my greatest Hawkeye memories.

Pretty cool stuff.

It almost feels like a "must win" game in this way -- seems like Iowa has had rough starts in conference the last few seasons and have had to play catch up.

After this "nuetral" game, the first few home games are against conference contenders and the road games are bottom of the conference.

If they can get above .500 here and @Nebraska, ... the climb to upper division doesn't "feel" insurmountable.

Last time I was at the Palestra I saw Ray Charles

In the Sixties

As far as I could tell I was the only white person in the house

Also saw him at the Latin Casino in Jersey the same year

This game won’t be neutral. Tons of PSU grads in Philly who won’t make drive from there to state college in winter for hoops but will hit up the Palestra. I would expect a heavy home-court advantage for Lions.
