The O'line

Is this the first season without any Ken O'Keefe coached players?

One of the worst offensive lines I've seen in a long time at Iowa. Lean and push isn't a good way to go about blocking someone.

Taking the gamble a couple years ago on getting some wrs and not as many olineman really cost them. Now not only is the line weak we also don't have any wrs. I dont care who the qb is that's a recipe for disaster.

I don't understand why we don't move welsh out to Tackle. Croston is getting killed. Why not make a change

I remember during fall practice i questioned the O line. I just didn't see the talent. I got ripped, over and over, about how stupid I am and how I don't understand footbal.
I guess I'm no smarter now that I've seen 5 games.
This offensive line is not good.
Okay. go ahead and tell me again why I'm so stupid.? Ickey hawk ?

There is not one position where we are good. I'm not even sure about CJ.

This^. I don't think I've ever seen such a lack of talent on an Iowa team. There is none, outside of maybe 3-4 guys total on both sides of the ball. Both lines are brutal, worst receiving group in maybe all of FBS, linebackers outside of Jewell are bad, safeties are just pathetic, and I mean pathetic. Neither one of those safeties belong anywhere near the field. This crap about Doyle and Strength conditioning needs to stop as well. We're weak, slow, soft... You name it.. We've been physically shoved around and dominated in every game this year, except Iowa State. Minnesota will shove us around all over the place.

A bit over the top. We are very good at 6 positions, and solid at about 9 positions.

We are lacking in depth, and about 6 total key positions, I'll name them. LT, S, outside LB, DE, WR#2, Wr#3. Now, don't get me wrong, that is not good, at all.

Now, look at almost every good/great team that Iowa has fielded under KF, and look at who we had at those positions(except WR)...there's the answer.

Regarding CJ, without a solid LT, a couple reliable targets, and an OC that has a clue...and apparently being limited in mobility...you have little chance.

I'll add TE to the list as Kittle has been pitiful.

I said it and got ripped too. I was afraid our line got too much credit for our runningbacks making an abnormal amount of big runs to up their average. They were too weak in pass protection and too inconsistent opening holes to be considered good. Especially since two of the three good ones from last year graduated. I have no idea how someone thought a line with Ike, Boone, and Cole would be good.

the return game and the punter

CJ is getting way too many blindside hits. Almost definitely the worst left side for a KF coached team.
