The more I think about it...here is what IU should do

Having talked to a few Hawk fans up here the last day or so, we all agree, IU needs to forfeit this sucker. Their AD was an absolute bunshatt about how he handled that whole thing. Game should be over by now, having been played in Indy, with the Hawks coming home on a 3 game win streak. Instead, we have a standoff. Nice.
I am not for a freebie but Iowa being shafted on this deal just aint right period.

You listening, cellar-dweller IU?
Do the right thing!

Does it involve each member of their team coming here and starting a new thread on the subject?

This thing had drug out for 2 days now. Must be quite the standoff between Iowa's and IU's AD's.
Guess the league will make the call tomorrow.

There aint gonna be a forfeit. That much I would guarantee.

Beyond that I have no idea what will happen.

This should have been taken care of within a couple of hours (at the most) after the game had been postponed, not drug out for 2 days.

I agree with the OP, I apologize for sounding like a broken record, had this happened at Carver I would hope our decision makers would have been considerate of the visiting team and found another place to place the very next day. It ticks me off that nobody in the media is calling Indiana out for this, this game should have been played last night in Indy.

I know this will never happen but if this game gets scheduled for next Thursday it would be neat if Fran started the 2nd/3rd string at Minnesota even if it means a loss (although the gray shirts might even beat MN) so they can come out with fresh legs against Indiana and beat the living crap out of them.

Is there any precedent for not playing the game? Say, in the event that it's rescheduled for March 10/11, that the game would have no impact on BTT seeding. Do they still play in that scenario?

Not that I can ever remember in college baksetball. Obviously the above scenario is fairly common in MLB.

It sounds like it will be settled today. More than likely playing in Bloomington on Thursday the 27th and pushing the Purude game in Carver back to Sunday March 2nd. That is probably a best case scenario if Iowa is making a trip back to Bloomington as it would still give the Hawks 3 days off between playing Purdue and going to East Lansing on March 6th.

Even those on the IU boards agree, the game shoulda been played at the Pacer's building (whatever that place is called) when they offered. It was a douchey move to decline.
IU now looks bad no matter what happens.

Here is what Indiana should do.

Start the fallen metal facing as center.

That is the only way they should win this game, because the metal facing would be difficult to defend.

The commish has to consider IU's vain move to not play the night after.
You can't let that go. They could have kept things relatively on schedule but chose their own pocketbooks instead.

They will have to play the game. Indiana will need help getting invited to the NIT
